From its inception in 1999, Cajun Ray and the Steamers has been committed to blending a wide variety of music with entertaining performances. The three members, Pete Dolecki, bass/vocals, Rich Valerio, drums/percussion/vocals and Ray Bator, guitars/vocals, bring with them many years of performing in bands throughout the New England region and beyond. In 2008, they travelled to England for private performances.
All competent players in their own right, the focus of the band has always been their harmonies. “When we first got together, we had a feeling the music would work, but it was the harmonies that really knocked us out,” Pete Dolecki explains. Ray Bator agrees. “We wanted something different, not only songs that you just don’t hear bands play, but vocals. That’s what separates us.”
For 20 years, Cajun Ray and the Steamers has brought their unique mix of classic rock, contemporary music and fun to audiences of all ages. Whether it’s a private function, local bar or the town green, one thing is certain: those three guys together are much greater than the sum of their parts. Rich Valerio says it best: “When we plug in, its magic.”
